Police in the Pwani region are currently searching for Abdallah Mohammed, a 40-year-old refrigeration technician from Mataya in Kiromo Ward, Bagamoyo District.
He is wanted in connection with the death of his partner, Naomi Mwakajengele, a 28-year-old teacher at Mataya Primary School.
Preliminary investigations reveal that Naomi’s body showed signs of being stabbed multiple times, with wounds found on her right side, left side, and near her heart. The tragic incident occurred on the night of February 11, 2025, in the couple’s home. Neighbors reported hearing Naomi’s desperate cries for help, claiming that her partner was trying to kill her.
Salim Morcase, the Police Commander for the Pwani region, explained that after Naomi’s cries, Abdallah left their bedroom and went to the house help, asking her to take care of their two young children, aged 4 and 2. The children had been in the bedroom with Naomi before the altercation.
The following morning, the house help was shocked to find the house door wide open, and Abdallah was nowhere to be found. Authorities believe that he fled the scene after the alleged attack.
Commander Morcase further explained that Naomi and Abdallah had been facing ongoing relationship problems, which led to them living apart for a while. Abdallah had recently returned to Naomi’s home two weeks before the incident took place.
