More than 50 countries at the United Nations have called on Russia to accept an immediate and unconditional ceasefire aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.
The joint call was made as international leaders and diplomats renewed pressure for an end to the conflict, which has continued to cause significant humanitarian and geopolitical consequences.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said Russia should respond to calls from Ukraine and the wider international community by agreeing to an unconditional ceasefire.

“Russia simply needs to accept the unconditional ceasefire that Ukraine and the international community have been calling for,” Rasmussen said.
The demand reflects growing international efforts to push for a halt to hostilities and create conditions for negotiations towards a lasting peace.
Ukraine and its allies have repeatedly called for Russia to end military operations and agree to ceasefire proposals, while Moscow has maintained its own conditions regarding any potential settlement.
The latest appeal by more than 50 nations highlights continued international pressure on Russia as diplomatic efforts to find a path towards ending the war remain ongoing.
