Kigamboni residents are being urged to embrace change as Yericko Nyerere, parliamentary candidate for the Kigamboni Constituency under the CHAUMMA party, continues his campaign trail ahead of the upcoming elections on October 29, 2025.

In a series of mobile campaign meetings, Yericko visited several neighborhoods, including Puna, Kibungo, Buyuni, Pembemnazi, and Tubwi Songani, to engage directly with constituents. During these gatherings, he outlined his vision for the constituency, emphasizing infrastructure development, improved social services, and equitable access to basic utilities.

“Roads in Kigamboni will be upgraded to tarmac standards, and public services will follow the people rather than the people chasing after services,” Yericko told residents. He noted that despite Kigamboni’s proximity to the ocean, water supply remains a challenge, and pledged to address these issues comprehensively.

A major focus of his campaign is improving ferry services. Yericko proposed that the ferry crossing in Darajani, currently the only operational ferry in the area, should become free for residents, with the government collecting taxes from private investors operating additional ferries. He stressed that under his leadership, residents would no longer pay for basic crossings, making mobility safer and more affordable. (Kigamboni Ferry)

During his journey to Buyuni, Yericko encountered commuters stranded due to poor road conditions. He personally addressed the situation, apologizing for the inconvenience and assuring them that infrastructure improvements would alleviate such challenges.

Another key promise is addressing long-standing land disputes in Kigamboni. Yericko said that once elected, all plots will be surveyed and allocated fairly, following legal procedures to ensure justice and prevent conflicts.

Yericko urged voters to end cycles of poverty by exercising their democratic right to vote for leadership that prioritizes their welfare over political loyalty. “The curse of poverty has been reinforced by past choices. It is now time to change leadership and embrace development,” he said, encouraging constituents to choose CHAUMMA over the ruling party.

As campaigns heat up, Yericko’s pledge to provide essential services, improve roads, and resolve land disputes continues to resonate with voters, setting the stage for a critical decision on October 29, 2025, when Tanzanians will vote for their parliamentarians, local councillors, and the president.
