Russia has cautioned against any potential military attacks on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, warning that such actions could destabilize the entire region.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov made Moscow’s position clear, stating, “We have repeatedly warned against even considering strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Such actions would have serious consequences.”
The warning comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East following an October 1 incident, in which Iran launched a large-scale missile attack on Israel. Tehran claimed it was retaliating for the assassinations of key figures linked to Hamas, Hezbollah, and its own Revolutionary Guard. In response, Israel has signaled that military action against Iran, including targeting its nuclear sites, is on the table.
The United States has also weighed in, reportedly advising Israel against attacking Iranian nuclear or energy facilities. While Washington supports Israel’s right to defend itself, officials have urged restraint to prevent a wider conflict.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office acknowledged these discussions but stated that Israel will ultimately act based on its own security needs.
Moscow’s warning highlights its broader diplomatic efforts to prevent escalation in the region. Russia has maintained close ties with Tehran, strengthening economic and political cooperation in recent years. Both countries have been navigating Western sanctions and are currently working on a new strategic partnership agreement.
With tensions running high, the global community is watching closely. Any military confrontation involving Iran’s nuclear infrastructure could have far-reaching consequences, making diplomacy and de-escalation critical in the coming weeks.
