Female students in the country have been encouraged to pursue science subjects to increase the number of female scientists who will help bring about advancements in science and technology.

This was stated by the Coordinator of the Women’s Involvement in Road Works Unit, Engineer Gladness Kitaly, who, along with a team from the Ministry of Construction, visited Chamwino Secondary School to highlight opportunities in the construction sector.

“We were speaking to the students, encouraging them to take advantage of the opportunities the government has provided so they can uplift themselves economically as engineers, contractors, and entrepreneurs in the construction sector,” said Engineer Kitaly.

“We have greatly benefited from your visit; our female students have been exceptional in class. For instance, in 2024, four female students achieved first division,” said Mtani.
