Zanzibar’s much-anticipated Tourism Exhibition is set to make a grand return on May 30-31, 2025, at the Nyamanzi Trade Exhibition Grounds.

The announcement was made on January 15 by the Minister for Tourism and Antiquities, Mr. Mudrik Ramadhani Soraga, who described the event as a key milestone in promoting the island’s vibrant tourism sector.

This year’s event, originally planned for earlier in the year, was rescheduled to avoid coinciding with the general elections. The move ensures the exhibition receives the focus it deserves while avoiding any scheduling conflicts. The second edition builds on the success of the inaugural exhibition held in October 2024 at the Dimani Exhibition Grounds, which was widely praised for its effective showcasing of Zanzibar’s unique attractions.

“The exhibition offers a great opportunity to present Zanzibar’s diverse offerings and elevate our standing in global tourism,” said Mr. Soraga. He stressed that the event plays a vital role in the government’s broader strategy to boost domestic tourism while attracting international visitors.

Renowned for its stunning beaches, Zanzibar is working to expand its appeal by diversifying its tourism experiences. “While our beaches remain a major draw, there’s an urgent need to develop a variety of tourism products to keep visitors coming back,” the minister explained.

Organizers expect around 1,000 participants this year, including key players in the tourism industry, to engage in discussions, workshops, and networking sessions. The event aims to highlight investment opportunities while promoting sustainable tourism practices and conservation efforts.

Mr. Soraga also addressed concerns about the recent suspension of Air France flights to Zanzibar, assuring stakeholders that it would not significantly impact the island’s tourism sector. “Although we’ve seen changes with direct flights from Paris, other airlines continue to operate direct services, ensuring a steady flow of international visitors,” he noted.

The exhibition is designed to foster partnerships and collaborations across various sectors, including infrastructure, environmental conservation, and heritage preservation. By encouraging investments, the event aims to strengthen Zanzibar’s position as a leading destination for both tourists and investors.

Participants will have the chance to interact with over 200 hotels, tour operators, and attractions from across Zanzibar, Tanzania, and East Africa. Exclusive seminars and workshops will also provide valuable insights into the region’s growing tourism market.
