Prof. Mohamed Janabi, the esteemed Executive Director of Muhimbili National Hospital, arrived in Arusha on the night of June 26, 2024, to support the ongoing medical camp at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.
Prof. Janabi, a leading cardiologist in Tanzania, aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services and educate the public on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) that are major health challenges in the region.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, Prof. Janabi emphasized his dual mission in Arusha: delivering direct medical care and raising awareness about lifestyle changes to prevent NCDs. This initiative aligns with the vision of the new Arusha Regional Commissioner, Paul Makonda, who has committed to enhancing public health services in the region.
The medical camp, which began earlier in the week with a team of specialists from Muhimbili, is part of a broader effort to improve healthcare accessibility and quality in Arusha. The presence of Prof. Janabi is expected to significantly boost the camp’s capacity, allowing more residents to receive critical health evaluations and treatments.
