The Tanzania Bloggers Network (TBN) has praised President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her steadfast commitment to fostering a peaceful and developed nation, highlighting the vital role of accurate and responsible information in supporting national stability.
The remarks came from TBN Chairman Beda Msimbe during the launch of a specialized workshop designed to train bloggers on responsible reporting ahead of Tanzania’s 2025 General Election, scheduled for October 29.
Msimbe commended the government’s proactive efforts through the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, which organized the workshop to strengthen professionalism and integrity among digital content creators. He said the initiative reflects a serious commitment to promoting ethical journalism, ensuring that bloggers contribute positively to national peace and the dissemination of verified information.

“Bloggers are increasingly shaping public opinion, and it is crucial they are equipped with the skills to report responsibly, fact-check information, and adhere to professional standards,” Msimbe said. “This partnership demonstrates the government’s recognition of the evolving media landscape and the importance of digital platforms in informing citizens accurately.”
The workshop covers practical training on ethical election reporting, including identifying misinformation, promoting fact-based narratives, and fostering public trust. Msimbe noted that by enhancing the competence of bloggers, the initiative also strengthens the nation’s democratic processes and contributes to a more informed electorate.
