Tanzania is expected to experience a mix of showers, thunderstorms, and partly sunny skies over the next 24 hours, according to the latest forecast from the Tanzania Meteorological Authority. Meteorologists report that changing atmospheric conditions are influencing rainfall patterns across multiple regions of the country.

In the southern and western highlands, including Ruvuma, Katavi, and Kigoma, residents should expect cloudy skies with occasional thundershowers. The southern highlands of Rukwa, Songwe, Iringa, Njombe, and Mbeya will see scattered showers interspersed with sunny intervals. Around the Lake Victoria region, Mwanza, Shinyanga, and Tabora will experience partly cloudy skies accompanied by isolated thundershowers, while Kagera, Geita, Simiyu, and Mara may receive light rain with periods of sunshine.

Central regions such as Singida and Dodoma are forecasted to have partly cloudy conditions with brief rain showers. In the northeast, areas including Manyara, Arusha, and Kilimanjaro will see intermittent rainfall and sunny periods. Coastal areas—including Pwani Region, Tanga, Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, and the islands of Unguja and Pemba—will experience partly cloudy skies with sunny intervals. Winds along the coast are expected to blow from the northeast at approximately 20 km/h, and sea conditions are predicted to remain slight.

Temperatures across the country are expected to vary, with Arusha recording a maximum of 28°C and a minimum of 17°C, while Dar es Salaam may reach 34°C and a minimum of 24°C. Dodoma is forecasted at 32°C maximum and 19°C minimum, Kigoma at 30°C and 21°C, and Mbeya at 27°C and 15°C. Other regions will experience similar moderate to warm temperatures, with coastal and highland areas seeing some cooler nights.

Experts advise the public, especially those living in highland and coastal areas, to remain vigilant during periods of heavier rainfall and thunderstorms. Communities near rivers and low-lying areas are reminded to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods, while fishermen and boat operators are urged to be cautious due to slight but persistent coastal winds.

Overall, meteorologists say the weather reflects a seasonal transition typical for this time of year in East Africa, with rainfall gradually spreading from highland and lake regions to the coast. Updated forecasts will be issued as conditions evolve to ensure safety and preparedness for both residents and travelers.
