Morogoro Regional Commissioner Queen Cuthbert Sendiga has called on public servants across the region to take full responsibility for their duties and ensure effective implementation of government activities.
Sendiga made the remarks on September 3, 2026, during a brief handover ceremony with former Morogoro Regional Commissioner Adam Kighoma Malima, who has since been appointed Regional Commissioner for Lindi. The ceremony was held at the Morogoro Regional Commissioner’s Office conference hall.
She said Morogoro, which has seven districts and nine councils, requires strong cooperation among leaders and public servants to achieve its development objectives.
Sendiga urged every leader and government employee to perform their responsibilities effectively, saying this would help accelerate the implementation of development projects and improve services delivered to citizens.
“Every public servant must stand firm in their responsibilities,” Sendiga said.

She also pledged to oversee the implementation of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) manifesto through tangible development initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of residents and contributing to national development.
The Regional Commissioner further directed district commissioners to strengthen coordination with their respective teams in implementing the President’s directive on maintaining cleanliness across their areas of jurisdiction, starting from village-level communities.
She said the initiative was essential in preventing outbreaks of disease and ensuring a healthier environment for residents.
Sendiga also pledged to maintain the “Kazi Iendelee” agenda by continuing strategic programmes and development initiatives already launched under her predecessor, Malima.
She said the region continues to face a number of challenges, including farmer-herder conflicts and land disputes.
Sendiga noted that some of the disputes were allegedly being fuelled by actions or failures by leaders, stressing the need for responsible leadership and effective conflict-resolution mechanisms.
She pledged to work with relevant authorities and stakeholders to address land-related conflicts and promote peaceful coexistence between farmers, pastoralists and other communities across Morogoro.
The Regional Commissioner called for greater accountability among government officials, saying effective leadership and cooperation would be critical to ensuring that development programmes benefit citizens and that government priorities are implemented efficiently.
