Senior Police Superintendent Professor Ezekiel Kyogo has urged women to recognise their important role in promoting good morals and building responsible communities through proper upbringing of children.

Professor Kyogo, from the Community Policing Commission at Police Headquarters in Dodoma, made the call on October 11, 2026, while addressing mothers, young people and children at Al-Madrasatul Fattah Islamiyyah in Bwawani, Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam.

He described mothers as the first teachers of children, emphasising that women have a significant responsibility in shaping the values, behaviour and future of society.

Kyogo noted that the role of women in raising children extends beyond individual families, contributing to the development of a society that upholds ethical principles and social responsibility.

Meanwhile, Police Constable Hamid Rashid from Temeke Regional Police urged mothers and women to view themselves as fertile soil capable of producing good fruits, highlighting their potential to nurture responsible and morally upright members of society.

Issa Al Hinai, a teacher at Al-Madrasatul Fattah Islamiyyah, thanked the Tanzania Police Force for providing the participants with valuable lessons, saying the training would serve as a strong foundation for improving child upbringing and strengthening moral values within the community.

The engagement highlights the importance of cooperation between the police, religious institutions and families in promoting positive behaviour, responsible parenting and safer communities.

Such initiatives reinforce the view that effective community policing involves not only maintaining law and order but also educating citizens and supporting families in preventing social problems before they arise.
