The Dar es Salaam Special Police Zone is investigating reports of the alleged abduction of Dastan Mutajura, who was reportedly abducted by unknown individuals on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in the Sigara, Tanesco, Buza area of Dar es Salaam.
According to circulating reports and images shared on social media, Mutajura was said to have been abducted at around 4 a.m. on Saturday while heading from his home in Kitunda.
The reports indicate that his vehicle, a Mercedes Benz C300, was blocked by the abductors’ vehicles before he was taken. The car was later found abandoned in the Buza Sigara area, adding to the shock and confusion surrounding the incident.

In a statement issued this morning, Sunday, January 5, 2025, by the Dar es Salaam Special Police Zone, led by Commander Jumanne Muliro, the police confirmed they are following up on the incident.
Preliminary investigations show that Mutajura does not appear to have any known connections to terrorist or political groups, but the police are continuing to assess the situation and investigate other possible motives behind the abduction.
The police are also calling on the public to provide any information that may assist in locating Mutajura safely, as well as any evidence related to the abduction.
