Police in Dar Es Salaam Step Up Election Preparations

Tanzania prepares for its general elections in October, the Regional Police Commander for Dar Es Salaam, SACP Jumanne Muliro, reassured the public that the police force is well on track with its preparations to ensure a peaceful election period.

SACP Muliro made these remarks today during the Police Family Day celebrations at Mwembeyanga Grounds in Temeke, Dar es Salaam. The event, which was attended by police officers and their families, provided an opportunity for the police community to come together and celebrate their unity and dedication to service.

In his speech, SACP Muliro shared that the police force in Dar es Salaam is diligently preparing for the election season by formulating plans aimed at maintaining law and order during the voting process. He emphasized that security during the elections would be a top priority for the police force.

“We are fully committed to ensuring that this election process remains peaceful and free from disturbances. Our goal is to create a safe environment where every citizen can freely exercise their right to vote,” Muliro said. He further assured the public that additional security measures would be in place to address any challenges that might arise before, during, and after the elections.

The Police Family Day was a chance for officers to spend quality time with their loved ones, reflecting on the vital support families provide to officers in the line of duty.
