The Minister of Construction, Abdallah Ulega, has instructed the Road Authority to operate around the clock to ensure the timely completion of critical infrastructure projects under the ministry.

Ulega issued these directives during a meeting with senior management and regional managers of the authority from across the country. The meeting, held in Dodoma, focused on addressing the urgency of ongoing emergency road projects.

Urgent Action Needed for Key Infrastructure

During his address, Ulega emphasized that road projects deemed urgent must be treated with the highest priority. He made it clear that any delays in these projects would not be tolerated, as they directly impact the safety and well-being of citizens.

“The urgency of these projects demands that we all work relentlessly, day and night, to meet the set timelines. These projects are critical for the nation’s development, and their swift completion is non-negotiable,” Ulega said.

The Minister also highlighted that certain road works, particularly those in rural and hard-to-reach areas, have faced delays due to unforeseen challenges, including weather conditions and logistical issues. However, he stressed that these barriers should not halt progress, as road infrastructure is vital to economic growth and public safety.

He encouraged managers to explore innovative solutions to overcome logistical challenges, ensuring that all materials and resources are available to meet deadlines.

“We must improve our communication and coordination to avoid delays. Every region must be fully prepared to meet the challenges posed by these urgent projects,” Ulega added.

Road to Improved National Infrastructure

The Minister further emphasized that the completion of emergency road projects is not only a matter of urgency but also a testament to the government’s commitment to improving national infrastructure. He reassured the public that the government is dedicated to making the necessary investments to ensure safe and efficient roads across the country.
