Tabora Regional Commissioner Paulo Chacha has called on residents of Uyui District in Tabora to abandon the practice of seeking treatment from traditional healers and instead seek medical care at hospitals to ensure better health services and avoid the exploitation often perpetrated by traditional healers.
This statement came after the Commissioner inspected the construction of a surgical building and a maternity and child ward at Wakasuvi Health Center in the district during a tour to review development projects in the Urambo and Uyui districts. Chacha emphasized that there was no need for people to visit traditional healers when there are quality health facilities available.

Urambo District Commissioner Dr. Khamis Mkanachi acknowledged that while the construction of health center buildings in the district had largely been completed, there was still a shortage of healthcare workers.
Regarding the health worker shortage in Urambo, RC Chacha assured the community that more healthcare workers would be deployed to ensure residents have access to medical services, urging them to cooperate when the new staff arrive.
Residents, including Mwamvua Haruna and Mohamed Said, expressed their gratitude to the government for improving healthcare services and assured that they would no longer face the hardships they previously encountered.
The inspection tour covered three health centers: Wakasuvi Health Center in Uyui District, and Vumilia and Songambele Health Centers in Urambo District.
