Official reports confirm at least one fatality and 28 injured, as rescue teams work urgently to recover survivors trapped under the debris.
Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa visited the site shortly after the incident, offering his condolences and pledging government support for the victims. He conveyed a message of solidarity on behalf of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, emphasizing the government’s commitment to saving lives and providing assistance to those affected.
Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Albert Chalamila, who is also on-site, urged residents to remain calm as coordinated efforts continue. Emergency services, including the Fire and Rescue Brigade, are collaborating with volunteers to clear debris and search for survivors.
