The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Hon. Dr. Doto Biteko, has thanked the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for allocating funds for the implementation of various development projects in the country, including in Magu District.

He made these remarks today, December 23, 2024, in Magu District, Mwanza Region, during a Special General Meeting where a report on the Implementation of the 2020-2024 Magu Constituency Election Manifesto was presented.

“President Samia has done exemplary work and deserves praise. I want to tell you that some people may be hurt when we praise President Samia, but they should know that these praises are not only from us. For example, the World Bank and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) are also praising her for the 5.1% economic growth of our country,” said Dr. Biteko.

He also stated that President Samia has good intentions and wants to see Tanzanians prosper.

He added that the development in Magu Constituency did not come by chance but through planning, and therefore, he congratulated the members of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party in Magu for their statement of praise to President Samia for providing 143.9 million shillings for the implementation of various projects.

He mentioned some of the projects undertaken by the government: “Paved roads have connected all regions across the country, we have passenger and cargo planes, we have built many schools, and now we are constructing schools in rural areas across the country. Development is visible, and it is our duty to speak of these achievements with great pride.”

On electricity, Dr. Biteko said that for just one village without electricity, the government has allocated 600 million shillings to provide electricity, and plans to extend power to islands are ongoing.

He also praised the Member of Parliament for Magu, Hon. Kiswaga, for his good management of development projects.
