Bishop Dr. Alex Malasusa of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania (ELCT), Eastern and Coastal Diocese, has expressed concern over the ongoing abductions reported across the country, stating that these incidents are alarming for both the public and the nation as a whole.
Speaking during a Christmas service at the Azania Front Cathedral in Dar es Salaam, Bishop Malasusa explained that these incidents not only violate human rights but also threaten the peace and stability of the nation.
“Abductions should not be taken lightly. We lose our humanity when we fail to protect the vulnerable and our children. Peace is a valuable asset that we must all fight to maintain,” said Bishop Malasusa.
He called on security agencies to strengthen their efforts to investigate and prevent criminal activities, emphasizing the importance of bringing perpetrators to justice.

Bishop Malasusa also urged religious and political leaders to use their positions to promote good morals and national unity. “We must be a society based on love, unity, and the protection of justice.
This is not the time to be divided, but to come together to address our challenges,” he added.
Abductions have been frequently reported in various parts of the country, raising concerns about the safety of citizens and the steps being taken to address the issue.
