The Minister for Water, Jumaa Aweso, has expressed gratitude to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, for significant financial investments in the water sector in Mwanza.
Aweso stated that the ongoing water projects, once completed, are expected to permanently resolve the city’s water challenges.
He made the remarks on December 21, 2024, during a visit by the Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa, who inspected the construction of the Kisesa-Bujora Clean Water Storage Tank project in Mwanza.

The minister emphasized that the government’s efforts in the water sector have yielded substantial progress.
Additionally, Minister Aweso commended the Managing Director of Mwanza Urban Water and Sanitation Authority (MWAUWASA), Nelly Msuya, for addressing recurring complaints about water shortages in Mwanza and its surrounding areas.
Aweso acknowledged that there were significant complaints about water availability in the past, but the situation has improved considerably since Msuya assumed office.
