Russia has described BRICS countries as a major driving force behind global economic growth and the emergence of a more balanced international order, highlighting the bloc’s increasing influence on world affairs.
Russian officials said the BRICS group—comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and its newly expanded members—continues to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, technology, energy, and financial development.
According to Moscow, BRICS has become an important platform for promoting multipolarity and giving developing nations a stronger voice in global decision-making. Russia argued that the bloc is playing an increasingly significant role in addressing global challenges while encouraging cooperation based on mutual respect and national sovereignty.

The statement comes as BRICS members continue expanding economic partnerships and exploring alternatives to traditional financial systems, including increasing trade in national currencies and enhancing cooperation through the New Development Bank.
Russia also emphasized that the growing interest from countries seeking closer ties with BRICS reflects the organization’s rising global influence and its appeal as a platform for economic and political cooperation.
The BRICS alliance has expanded significantly in recent years, with new members joining as the bloc seeks to strengthen collaboration across the Global South and reshape the global economic landscape.
