The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has released its weather forecast for the next 24 hours, starting from 9:00 p.m. on December 4, 2025, warning residents across the country of partly cloudy skies, scattered showers, and periods of sunshine.
Authorities are advising the public to remain vigilant, particularly in regions prone to sudden weather changes.
In the northwestern regions of Kagera, Katavi, and Kigoma, conditions are expected to be partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers in some areas, while the central city of Tabora and northern highlands, including Arusha, Manyara, and Kilimanjaro, will experience sunny periods interrupted by passing clouds. Coastal and southern regions such as Mtwara, Pwani, Lindi, Tanga, and Dar es Salaam are forecasted to have partly cloudy conditions with occasional light rain showers, particularly in areas near the sea.
Residents of the Lake Victoria basin, including Geita, Shinyanga, Mwanza, Simiyu, and Mara regions, can expect similar weather, with intermittent sunshine and scattered showers. The southern highlands, including Ruvuma, Rukwa, Iringa, Njombe, Songwe, and Mbeya, are anticipated to experience partly cloudy skies with warm temperatures during the day and cooler conditions at night. Islands of Unguja and Pemba are also expected to enjoy sunny periods with minimal rainfall.

Temperature readings vary across the country. Dar es Salaam is forecasted to reach a high of 33°C with a minimum of 24°C, while Dodoma will experience temperatures between 33°C and 19°C. Arusha will see highs of 29°C and lows of 17°C, with Kigoma ranging between 30°C and 21°C. Southern regions such as Mbeya and Njombe are expected to register temperatures from 28–30°C during the day, dropping to 11–15°C overnight.
Sunrise and sunset times differ slightly by region: Arusha will experience sunrise at 06:17 and sunset at 18:17, Dar es Salaam at 06:31 and 18:31, Dodoma at 05:59 and 18:27, and Zanzibar at 05:55 and 18:21. Coastal winds are forecasted to blow from the northeast at approximately 20 km/h, while sea conditions are expected to remain slight.
Looking ahead, TMA forecasts only minor changes in weather patterns on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Citizens are encouraged to follow local updates and take precautions in areas prone to showers or sudden weather shifts.
