Political activities in Tanzania have intensified as the country approaches the General Election scheduled for October 29, 2025, with candidates for council, parliamentary, and presidential positions campaigning vigorously to promote their policies and promises to citizens.
In Mbweni, part of the Kawe constituency in Dar es Salaam, the ruling party’s Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has been conducting door-to-door campaigns, engaging directly with residents in their homes and workplaces to ensure maximum voter outreach.
On Sunday, September 28, 2025, council candidate for Mbweni, Abdulkadir Abdu Mgheni, led these house-to-house campaigns, accompanied by local leaders and ward representatives. He urged residents to turn out in large numbers on election day and to support CCM candidates for parliamentary and presidential positions. Mgheni emphasized that citizen participation would ensure the successful implementation of the party’s development manifesto in Mbweni.
During the campaign, Ramadhan Rashid Madabida, a former regional chairman of CCM in Dar es Salaam, encouraged voters to maintain confidence in the current leadership. He highlighted that under the sixth term of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the country has maintained a foundation of peace and development.
Juma Mkomile, chairman of Malindi Estate, noted that Mbweni alone has over 30,000 registered voters. He pointed out that several development projects have already been implemented, and more are expected if citizens continue to support CCM leaders.

Residents engaged in the door-to-door campaigns expressed enthusiasm, with many pledging their votes. However, they reminded candidates to honor their campaign promises once elected.
The party’s official slogan, “October Tunatiki”, has been used to motivate Mbweni residents and voters nationwide to participate actively in this year’s election.
