Israel’s Defence Minister has announced that he has instructed the Israeli military to launch intense strikes against regime targets in central Tehran, following what he described as a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement by Iran.
Speaking in a televised address on Tuesday evening, the minister stated:
“Iran has chosen to break the ceasefire. I have therefore ordered our defense forces to respond forcefully, with precision strikes aimed at regime command centers in the heart of Tehran. Israel will not tolerate deceit or continued aggression.”
The announcement comes just hours after former U.S. President Donald Trump declared a “complete and total ceasefire” between Israel and Iran was set to take effect. However, that truce now appears to have unraveled rapidly.

Reports from military sources indicate that Iran launched a short-range missile attack on an Israeli air base near Beersheba shortly after the ceasefire was announced. No casualties have been confirmed, but Israel labeled the incident a “direct breach” of the terms agreed upon.
The Israeli Air Force has reportedly begun retaliatory operations, though official details remain limited. Explosions were reported late Tuesday night in Tehran’s Lavizan district, an area known for housing military and intelligence infrastructure.
The ceasefire, which had been hailed as a breakthrough in halting weeks of cross-border conflict, is now in jeopardy. Regional powers including Qatar, Oman, and Turkey have urged both sides to return to diplomatic channels and avoid a wider war.
The United Nations has yet to issue an official statement, though sources suggest the Security Council is preparing for an emergency session.
