The 2025 Uhuru Torch race has continued its symbolic journey across Morogoro Region, highlighting various development projects while promoting the national theme: “Come Forward to Participate Peacefully and Calmly in the 2025 General Election.”
On April 18, 2025, the National Torch Leader, Ismail Ali Ussi, delivered the Uhuru Torch message to residents of Kilosa District, emphasizing the four core national values laid down by the founding fathers of Tanzania, which continue to inspire the country’s development.

Among the key values highlighted was the 1964 Zanzibar Revolution, which overthrew the sultanate and restored dignity to the people of Zanzibar. The second was the Union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar, which gave birth to the United Republic of Tanzania.
The third value noted was the Arusha Declaration of 1967, which laid the foundation for the country’s pursuit of Socialism and Self-Reliance, and the fourth was Tanzania’s firm and independent domestic and foreign policies, which remain non-aligned to any global power bloc.
In his address, Ussi also urged citizens to actively and peacefully participate in the 2025 General Election, encouraging national unity and political stability.
The Uhuru Torch is scheduled to complete its run across Morogoro Region on April 19, 2025, and will be officially handed over to Dodoma Region on April 20, 2025, continuing its mission of fostering patriotism, unity, and development across Tanzania
