Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has stated that the government will continue to bolster its diplomatic efforts and will increase its focus to enable more Tanzanians to access various opportunities within international communities.
He emphasized that the Sixth Phase Government, led by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has successfully strengthened partnerships with allied countries, and the positive outcomes are now evident.
“Our President has shown goodwill over the past three and a half years, undertaking significant efforts to build diplomacy and relationships across various sectors and with many countries worldwide,” he said.
He made these remarks today (Wednesday, August 4, 2024) during a meeting with the newly appointed Regional Director for the World Health Organization (WHO) Africa, Dr. Faustine Ndungulie, at his office in Mlimwa, Dodoma.
These efforts by the Sixth Phase Government have enabled Tanzania to continue rising diplomatically, allowing the country to secure prominent leadership positions within international organizations.

“We believe the significant work we’ve done during these three years to secure the position of Speaker of the Inter-Parliamentary Union was no small feat, and now we have also secured the position of WHO Regional Director for Africa,” Majaliwa stated.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister affirmed that the government will continue to support the new Regional Director in the execution of his new duties.
“At all times, the Minister of Health will be close to you, ensuring that our policies align with WHO’s goals. With your presence, we must be at the forefront, ensuring that we support you in our national health plans,” he added.
