Tanzania and Mozambique have embarked on a new chapter of collaboration aimed at strengthening trade, investment, and security ties.
This development follows high-level talks between Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi.

During a joint press conference at the State House in Dar es Salaam, President Hassan highlighted the significance of this partnership for mutual economic growth. The two nations are set to establish customs centers at border areas to streamline and monitor trade activities. An essential part of this initiative is the upgrade of the Mtambaswala border crossing to facilitate smoother and more efficient trade flows
The collaboration extends beyond infrastructure improvements. Both countries have committed to fostering a conducive environment for increased investments. This includes exploring opportunities in the energy sector, notably through the signing of a unitization agreement for the co-development of a shared natural gas reservoir.
