Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa recently took a moment to celebrate the impressive progress Tanzania has made in sports over the past four years.
Reflecting on the achievements of the national teams, from youth to women’s and men’s squads, Majaliwa highlighted how these successes have been a testament to the country’s growing sports culture. His remarks came as part of a report on the government’s efforts to implement the CCM 2020-2025 election manifesto.
During his speech, Majaliwa focused on the government’s ongoing commitment to sports, not just as an entertainment avenue, but as an important pillar of national identity. According to him, the achievements of Tanzania’s teams and clubs play a big part in shaping the country’s spirit and pride.
From the under-23 teams to the senior men and women’s teams, Tanzania’s sports scene has witnessed growing success across the board. This is not just about victories in tournaments, but also about the steady improvement in infrastructure and resources for athletes. Majaliwa pointed out how the government’s investments in training facilities and sports programs are starting to pay off, creating opportunities for talent to shine at all levels.

The Prime Minister also shared that President Samia’s administration sees sports as a key aspect of national growth, not just in terms of competition, but also for its role in building social and economic bridges.
