Russian President Vladimir Putin has confirmed he will attend the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Shenzhen this November, in a move widely viewed as another sign of the growing strategic partnership between Russia and China at a time of shifting global power dynamics.
The Kremlin also announced that Putin has formally invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit Russia next year, signaling continued efforts by the two leaders to strengthen diplomatic coordination, economic ties, and regional influence amid increasing geopolitical tensions worldwide.
The planned meetings come as both nations seek to expand cooperation in trade, energy, infrastructure, technology, and security, while presenting a united front on key international issues. Observers say the personal relationship between Putin and Xi has become one of the defining political partnerships of the modern era. Over the past decade, the two leaders have met numerous times, often portraying their nations as reliable partners capable of resisting external pressure and promoting alternative economic alliances.
