The national security apparatus has issued a strong warning against emerging acts and statements that could jeopardise public order, emphasising that authorities remain on high alert and ready to intervene wherever the law is violated.

In a statement released on November 21, 2025 from the Police Headquarters in Dodoma, the Tanzania Police Force announced that it has observed an increase in provocative comments and activities by certain groups and individuals. According to the statement, these actions are capable of fuelling tensions, encouraging divisions, or undermining the country’s long-standing social cohesion.

The Police noted that although some of the recent remarks may appear subtle, their potential to trigger unrest cannot be underestimated. The statement stressed that national laws clearly prohibit conduct that incites hatred, promotes hostility, or attempts to disrupt community harmony.

Authorities reiterated that enforcement measures will be taken against anyone who violates these legal boundaries, regardless of their status, affiliation, or public influence. The Police added that law enforcement officers remain guided by their constitutional responsibility to maintain peace and ensure the safety of all residents.

According to the statement, maintaining stability is not only vital for community well-being but is also directly linked to the country’s economic growth trajectory. The Police emphasised the importance of safeguarding national unity, noting that peace forms the foundation upon which investment, development, and public confidence thrive.

The Force further underscored that any actions capable of disturbing public order would harm citizens in significant ways—socially, economically, and in matters of personal security. It highlighted that disruptions to peace often translate into reduced business activity, restricted mobility, increased law-enforcement burdens, and a general decline in quality of life.

The statement concluded by urging the public to continue upholding the values of unity, dialogue, and lawful engagement. Citizens were also advised to report any suspicious activities or inflammatory content to the nearest law-enforcement office to support the ongoing efforts to preserve tranquillity across the country.

As debates within the public sphere continue to intensify, security analysts note that the reminder from the Police aligns with global approaches to preserving peace and deterring the spread of harmful rhetoric. Concepts such as national security, public order, and rule of law remain central pillars in shaping the role of enforcement agencies in democratic societies.

The Police Force has assured the public that it will continue to monitor developments closely and take appropriate action where necessary, reaffirming its commitment to protecting the nation’s stability and ensuring that every citizen can continue to live and work in an atmosphere of safety.
