In the report for the fourth quarter of 2023, released earlier this week, TTCL scored 67.02% in over 280 events used to measure the efficiency of all six networks in Tanzania.
The report, which is released every three months, shows that TTCL was evaluated on 285 events.

3. Vodacom – 96.86
4. Airtel – 95.10%
5. Halotel – 90.18%

Tigo was evaluated on 283 events, followed by Zantel on 280 events.
Vodacom Tanzania was evaluated on 287 events, Airtel (286), Halotel (285).

Evaluation criteria included network access speed after the phone is turned on, the time it takes for the phone to connect when someone calls, network service speed, the quality of reception and stability of the network when someone is in motion.

Others are the size of the area where the network is available, the quality of the network, and the distribution of 2G, 3G, and 4G networks.

Commenting on the matter, TCRA Director General, Dr Jabir Bakari said if a telecommunications service provider fails to meet the required quality of service standards, they will be subject to regulatory action.
