Muhimbili Institute Renovation Receives Boost from ALAF Donation

The restoration of the Out Patients Department (OPD) and reception area at the Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) has received a significant boost with a donation of iron sheets valued at 35 million Tanzanian Shillings from ALAF Limited. The donation aims to ensure the timely completion of the renovation project, which is set to modernize the facility and enhance patient care.

Dr. Antony Assey, The acting Managing Director of MOI,Dr. Antony Assey, expressed his gratitude for the support from ALAF Limited during the donation ceremony in Dar es Salaam. “This contribution comes at a critical time for the institute, providing much-needed resources for our renovation efforts,” he said. Dr. Assey highlighted the importance of the donation in facilitating the project’s progress and emphasized that the renovation will enable the institute to accommodate more patients and improve the quality of services provided.

The renovation project at MOI aims to give the OPD and reception area a major facelift, aligning with the institute’s mission to provide high-quality, equitable, and accessible services in orthopaedics, trauma, and neurosurgery. By modernizing these areas, MOI seeks to enhance its capacity to deliver efficient and patient-centered care.

The roofing materials provided are a substantial contribution to the ongoing efforts to refurbish MOI, demonstrating the potential impact of public-private partnerships in the health sector.
