The grand ceremony aimed to celebrate Mr Ibu’s life rather than focus solely on his passing, as his family wished to honor his legacy of love, laughter, and liveliness. This celebration continued with a Church Thanksgiving on June 30, providing an opportunity for family members, friends, and well-wishers to gather and remember the joy he brought into their lives

Despite some rumors, the Central Planning Committee clarified that no public solicitation of funds had been made, and that the family had received substantial support from the Enugu State Government and various individuals to ensure a fitting tribute to Mr Ibu

John Okafor’s enduring impact on the Nigerian entertainment industry was evident in the outpouring of love and respect seen throughout the ceremonies, underscoring his status as a beloved figure whose humor and warmth will be deeply missed.
