Kagera Sugar Increases Production to 150,000 Tons

Kagera Sugar Factory has ramped up its annual sugar production to over 150,000 tons, solidifying its position as Tanzania’s largest sugar producer.

The government’s aim to achieve self-sufficiency in sugar production is set to be bolstered by increased output from domestic factories like Kagera Sugar. The factory, benefiting from tax incentives offered to registered investors by the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), plays a crucial role in meeting the nation’s sugar demand.

“This expansion marks a milestone in our efforts to enhance domestic sugar production,” remarked a government official. “It underscores our commitment to supporting local industries through favorable investment policies.”
