President Samia Suluhu Hassan has said that the government through its embassies and various platforms abroad will strengthen efforts in opening markets for the cloves’ sales.

She made the statement earlier on Tuesday when inaugurating the Zanzibar State Trade Cooperation in Pemba Island, Zanzibar noting that the demand for the crop in the global market is high.

Elaborating, she tipped those involved in the crop production to put more efforts as the government focuses on enhancing its cultivation and marketing.

“As we look for scientific ways to increase production productivity, we should not lower the status and quality of our cloves. Let us increase production with quality in mind,” she pointed out.
