Tanzania has highlighted investment and trade opportunities in the agricultural sector during the opening of the Mombasa International Show 2026 in Mombasa, Kenya.
Deputy Minister for Agriculture, David Silinde (MP), attended the opening ceremony as a special guest of Kenya’s Ministry of Agriculture and joined the Kenyan Minister for Agriculture at the event.
During the exhibition, Silinde outlined various opportunities available in Tanzania’s agricultural sector, including crop production, market expansion, value addition, and opportunities for increased trade and investment between Tanzania and Kenya as well as across the wider East African region.
Silinde also held discussions with traders, investors, processors, buyers, producers and other agricultural stakeholders from Kenya and other countries participating in the international exhibition.

The discussions focused on strengthening cross-border trade and attracting greater investment across agricultural value chains, with emphasis on creating stronger links between producers and markets and expanding opportunities for agricultural products.
Tanzania’s participation in the Mombasa International Show 2026 is part of the government’s efforts to identify and open new markets for agricultural produce while connecting farmers with buyers and investors.
The participation also seeks to promote value addition, strengthen agricultural value chains and encourage both domestic and international investment in the sector.
The exhibition provides Tanzania with an opportunity to showcase its agricultural potential and engage directly with regional and international stakeholders on ways to expand trade, investment and cooperation in agriculture.
The government continues to position agriculture as a key driver of economic growth, with efforts focused on increasing production, improving market access and creating more opportunities for farmers and agribusinesses.
