Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said Iran and China have significant potential to contribute to the emergence of a fairer international order while strengthening multilateralism, peace and global stability.
Araghchi said closer cooperation between Tehran and Beijing could play an increasingly important role in efforts to reshape international relations around greater respect for sovereignty, equality among nations and collective decision-making.
According to the Iranian foreign minister, the two countries share an interest in strengthening multilateral institutions and promoting a global system in which international issues are addressed through cooperation rather than unilateral action.
He argued that Iran and China, as influential regional and international actors, can contribute to efforts aimed at preserving peace and stability at a time of growing geopolitical tensions and competing approaches to global governance.

Araghchi’s remarks reflect Tehran’s broader push for stronger partnerships with major non-Western powers as Iran seeks to expand diplomatic and economic cooperation beyond traditional Western alliances.
China, meanwhile, has consistently promoted multilateralism and a greater role for emerging economies in international affairs, positioning itself as an advocate of a more multipolar global system.
The Iranian foreign minister’s comments also come amid wider debates over the future of the international order, including the role of major powers, the effectiveness of existing multilateral institutions and the need for greater cooperation on global security challenges.
