Seven Lions Clubs have joined forces to provide food assistance to orphans living at the Chamazi Orphanage in Dar es Salaam, reaffirming their commitment to supporting vulnerable children and ensuring they have access to basic necessities.

The humanitarian initiative brought together members from Mitha Family, Lions Club of DSM Host, Lions Club of DSM Sky, Lions Club of DSM City, Lions Club of DSM Mazingira, Lions Club of DSM Unity, and Lions Club of DSM Africana, who donated a variety of food items to support the children’s welfare.
Speaking during the donation event, coordinator Shaido Mitha said the Lions Clubs regularly organize charitable activities aimed at assisting disadvantaged groups within society, including orphaned children.

“Our clubs have a long-standing tradition of serving communities through humanitarian projects. Supporting orphans and other vulnerable groups is part of our mission to ensure that everyone has access to basic needs and opportunities for a better future,” Mitha said.

The donated food supplies are expected to help meet the daily nutritional needs of the children residing at the center.
The Chairperson of Chamazi Orphanage Centre, Winfrida Lubanza, expressed gratitude to the Lions Clubs for their generosity and concern for the welfare of the children.

She said the support would make a significant difference in the lives of the orphans and called on other organizations, institutions, and individuals to emulate the gesture by extending assistance to vulnerable members of society.

“We are grateful for this support. Such contributions help us provide better care for the children. We encourage more institutions and well-wishers to join hands in supporting orphanages and other social welfare centers,” Lubanza said.

The donation reflects the Lions Clubs’ continued commitment to community service and their efforts to improve the lives of vulnerable groups across Tanzania
