Tanzania Deputy President Arrives for AfDB Meetings

Tanzania’s Deputy President, Dr. Philip Mpango, arrived in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, to represent the country at the Annual Governors’ Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Board. The event is scheduled to take place from May 26 to May 30, 2025.

Upon his arrival at Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport, Dr. Mpango was warmly welcomed by a delegation that included Tanzania’s Ambassador to Ivory Coast, who is based in Nigeria, Selestine Kakele, and Ivory Coast’s Minister of Education, Marietou Koné.

Dr. Mpango’s participation in these high-level meetings is a significant opportunity for Tanzania to engage with key stakeholders in discussions focused on Africa’s economic and social development. The meetings also provide a platform to strengthen regional and international cooperation to advance development goals across the continent.
