Billionaire entrepreneur Prateek Suri, Africa’s wealthiest Indian businessman, has announced a major philanthropic initiative, committing a significant portion of his fortune to improving education, healthcare, and child welfare across Africa.

His pledge, one of the largest individual donations in recent history, aims to uplift underserved communities by addressing critical social and economic challenges.

Suri’s newly established foundation will fund the construction of schools, teacher training programs, and medical initiatives to improve healthcare accessibility in remote areas. Speaking on his commitment, Suri emphasized that his efforts go beyond charity, stating, “This is not just charity—it’s a legacy. Wealth shines brightest when used to illuminate the path for others.”

Born in Delhi, India, Suri’s rise to success began with humble beginnings. He attended Modern School, Barakhamba Road, before earning a degree in mechanical engineering from BITS Pilani, Dubai. His entrepreneurial breakthrough came in 2012 when he launched a consumer electronics business, focusing on affordable smart televisions for the African market.
