A man is facing charges of sexual assault and murder following the tragic death of his six-month-old child.
The incident occurred in the Kizota Ward of the Dodoma Region on Sunday, September 1st.
Damas Stephano, 38, was arrested by local police after being accused of sexually assaulting and raping his infant daughter. According to authorities, the child succumbed to her injuries shortly after the attack.
The suspect, a resident of Mbuyuni Street, was taken into custody on Monday, September 2nd, and remains in police custody as investigations continue.

Dodoma Regional Police Commander George Katabazi confirmed the arrest and assured the public that the case would be thoroughly investigated. “We are committed to bringing justice to the victim and her family,” Katabazi stated.
