Professor Adolf Mkenda has called on contemporary artists in Tanzania to collaborate with the government in combating gender-based violence against children. Mkenda has urged these artists to use their art to compose a song with a powerful message to raise awareness in the community against acts of gender-based violence and any form of violence against children, especially girls, as well as to promote a love for education.
Prof. Mkenda made this appeal during the National Education, Skills, and Innovation Week celebrations held in Tanga. In his speech, he explained that children can more easily understand messages delivered through artists’ songs than through speeches given by leaders. He said, “It is easier for children to understand through the messages in artists’ songs than through speeches given by leaders.”
Continuing his speech, Prof. Mkenda emphasized that the role of artists is not only to entertain but also to educate and promote good behavior among children. He said that artists have a significant role to play as ambassadors of positive change in society. “Artists have a unique position in society. They can use their influence to reach children and youth in ways that political leaders cannot. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that children receive a quality education and grow up in safe environments,” said Prof. Mkenda.

Furthermore, Mkenda discussed the importance of keeping girls in school and ensuring they complete their education without facing early pregnancies. He said, “It is crucial for girls to complete their education to have a better future. Gender-based violence and early pregnancies are major obstacles to their development. We need to work together to address these challenges.”
Prof. Mkenda’s call comes at a time when Tanzania has been facing challenges related to gender-based violence and early pregnancies, which have significantly affected girls’ education. According to UNICEF reports, a large percentage of girls in the country are forced to drop out of school due to early pregnancies and acts of gender-based violence.
During the celebrations, participating artists supported Mkenda’s call and pledged to use their talents to educate the community. One of the renowned artists present at the event said, “As artists, we have the power to reach many people through our music. We will continue to support government efforts to combat gender-based violence and ensure children receive a quality and meaningful education.”
These efforts align with the government’s plans to ensure that education is a right for every child and that children grow up in safe and development-promoting environments. He concluded his speech by saying, “Education is the foundation of the nation’s development. We need to create environments that allow our children to grow up healthy and safe. Artists are a crucial part of this change, and I urge them to step forward and support this campaign with all their might.”
You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be actually something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
Hi there this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello there! Do you use Twitter? I’d like to follow you if that would be okay. I’m definitely enjoying your blog and look forward to new updates.
