The United States government has announced a reward of up to 10 million dollars for information that could help authorities identify or locate several senior Iranian officials, including the country’s newly prominent political figure, Mojtaba Khamenei.
The move is part of Washington’s broader effort to gather intelligence on individuals believed to play significant roles within Iran’s political and security leadership. Officials say the reward is intended to encourage people around the world to share credible information that may assist investigators in understanding the activities and networks surrounding Iran’s top decision-makers.
Among those also named in the announcement are senior Iranian officials including Ali Larijani, who has long been a prominent figure in the country’s political system. Authorities are also seeking information related to Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. In addition, several officials believed to be working closely within the leadership office in Tehran are reportedly included in the search.
According to American authorities, the reward is being offered through a long-running security initiative known as the Rewards for Justice Program, which encourages individuals across the world to provide information connected to threats against international security.
Officials say the latest announcement comes at a time when geopolitical tensions in the Middle East remain high, with political rivalries and security concerns continuing to shape relations between major regional and global powers. Washington has repeatedly accused certain elements within Iran’s leadership of supporting activities that it says contribute to instability in the region.

The spotlight on Mojtaba Khamenei has also drawn attention to the broader leadership structure of the Islamic Republic. He is the son of Ali Khamenei, who has served as Iran’s highest authority for decades. Observers say the younger Khamenei has gradually gained influence within key political and security circles.
Analysts note that offering a financial reward related to individuals at such high levels of government is relatively rare and signals the seriousness with which Washington views the current strategic environment.
