Putin’s State Visit Strengthens Russia-Azerbaijan Ties

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is currently on a two-day state visit to Azerbaijan.

Discussions  focused on advancing the strategic partnership and allied relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, along with addressing current international and regional issues.

Accordng to Russian President Vladimir Putin,that the progress of their relations is guided by the Declaration signed in early 2022, which was further reinforced by President Aliyev’s visit to Moscow in April, boosting bilateral ties.

Trade and economic relations are developing successfully. Humanitarian ties are deemed crucial, with gratitude expressed for the attention given to promoting the Russian language in Azerbaijan through schools and higher educational institutions. Cooperation in education is set to expand.

The intergovernmental commission is functioning effectively. The Days of Russian Culture held in Azerbaijan in June 2024 were acknowledged and appreciated.

Both leaders expressed willingness to assist in facilitating the signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as in border delimitation, logistical, and economic issue resolutions, as previously discussed.
