Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered a blunt assessment of the ongoing war in Ukraine, advising Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to rethink his strategy of continuing the fight on the battlefield against Russia.
Modi, who has carefully balanced India’s relationships with both Ukraine and Russia, suggested that despite the support Ukraine receives from around the world, the war will not end with a military victory. “I can tell President Zelensky, brother, regardless of how many people stand with you in the world, there will never be a resolution on the battlefield,” Modi said, stressing the importance of seeking a peaceful solution.
