The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has issued an update about Cyclone “Jude,” which is currently making its way through the Indian Ocean near the Mozambique Channel.
TMA’s latest analysis suggests that the cyclone is expected to hit land in Mozambique today, but it will lose some of its strength as it moves inland. However, Cyclone “Jude” is anticipated to return to the ocean and potentially strengthen again between March 13 and 15, 2025.
While Cyclone “Jude” is not expected to directly affect Tanzania, its presence in the region may cause changes in local weather patterns. As a result, residents across the country can expect more rainfall in the coming days.
The TMA is closely monitoring the situation, keeping an eye on the cyclone’s path and communicating with other meteorological agencies to stay on top of any developments.

Even though the cyclone isn’t directly threatening Tanzania, the public is still encouraged to stay informed and prepared for changes in weather conditions.
The expected rainfall, driven by the cyclone’s movement, may lead to localized flooding, particularly in areas that are already prone to such issues. Local authorities are advising residents in these regions to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
