Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted that his extraordinary career may soon come to an end, revealing that he plans to step away from the game to focus on his family.

Speaking in an emotional interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, the 40-year-old star admitted that retiring will be one of the hardest decisions of his life, but said the time has come to prioritize the people he loves most.

Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, is already recognized as one of the greatest players in football history. With over 950 career goals, countless trophies, and five Ballon d’Or awards, his impact on the game is undeniable. Yet, the Portuguese captain said the next chapter of his life will be about something deeper than competition — it will be about peace, presence, and family.

“Nothing compares to the adrenaline of scoring a goal,” Ronaldo said during the interview. “But everything in life has a beginning and an end. I’ve given everything to football, and now I want more time for myself, for my children, and to enjoy life off the pitch.”

The football superstar did not specify when exactly he will hang up his boots, but he hinted that it could come after the 2026 FIFA World Cup — if he decides to take part. Many fans believe that could be his final major tournament, closing a chapter that has inspired millions across the world.

Ronaldo also spoke about his former club, Manchester United, expressing sadness over what he described as a “lack of structure and vision” at one of the world’s biggest football institutions. Despite his criticisms, he emphasized his deep respect and affection for the club and its supporters, saying he hopes to see them rise again.

Over the years, Ronaldo’s name has become synonymous with discipline, hard work, and a relentless drive for excellence. From his early days at Sporting Lisbon to his stardom at Real Madrid and Juventus, he has embodied dedication to craft and passion for success. Now, as he prepares for a life beyond the stadium lights, he says he wants to explore new passions, spend more time with his family, and give back to the community that has supported him throughout his careers
