The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has invited South Korean investors to explore investment opportunities in Zanzibar across various economic sectors, urging them to establish partnerships with local businesses to boost capital, introduce new technologies and expand commercial activities.
Dr. Mwinyi made the remarks on October 30, 2026, during a dinner hosted by the Tanzania Embassy in South Korea at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul. The event aimed to strengthen trade and investment relations between Tanzania and South Korea.
He highlighted Zanzibar’s significant investment opportunities in the Blue Economy, tourism, port development, transportation and value-added agro-processing industries.
The President also assured potential investors that the Zanzibar Government is continuing to improve the investment climate through reforms in laws, regulations and services provided by the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA).
Dr. Mwinyi encouraged South Korean investors to collaborate with local companies, emphasizing that partnerships would combine financial resources, technology and expertise for the mutual benefit of both sides.
The dinner brought together representatives of the South Korean Government, diplomats, financial institutions, business leaders and investors from various economic sectors.
Dr. Mwinyi has concluded his official visit to South Korea, which included investment and trade meetings in Seoul, visits to industries and development projects in Yeosu, participation in the ITOP Conference on Jeju Island, and discussions with South Korean companies on strategic investment opportunities in Zanzibar.
