Patience Rwabwogo, daughter of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni, has been consecrated as a bishop of Covenant Nations Church in Uganda.
The consecration was held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Covenant Hill in Maya, Wakiso District, during celebrations marking the church’s 20th anniversary.
Rwabwogo founded Covenant Nations Church two decades ago as a small house fellowship. The ministry has since expanded into a wider Christian movement with a growing presence in Uganda.
President Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni attended the ceremony, joined by Vice President Jessica Alupo, government officials, religious leaders and other invited dignitaries.
In his remarks, President Museveni commended his daughter for her dedication to Christian ministry and expressed appreciation for her elevation to the episcopal office.

The consecration ceremony was led by Bishop Dr LaDonna Osborn, while Archbishop Moses Odongo and Bishop Joshua Lwere served as co-consecrators.
During the ceremony, Rwabwogo received her certificate and a Bible before being presented with traditional episcopal symbols, including a mitre, staff, ring and cross.
The event also provided an opportunity for thanksgiving following First Lady Janet Museveni’s recent recovery from illness. She spoke during the occasion, sharing her gratitude and reflecting on her recovery.
The celebrations brought together prominent Christian leaders from Uganda and beyond, alongside government representatives, members of the congregation, family and other guests.
Rwabwogo’s consecration marks a significant milestone in her two-decade journey of Christian ministry, which began with a small fellowship and developed into the Covenant Nations Church.
